October is one of the Smoky Mountain’s busiest months of the year for good reason! The beautiful rainbow of autumn colors enhances every mountain view surrounding each of our fall visitors. It’s a sight to behold! In addition to the beauty set before our eyes, the weather begins to cool, so we feel the change of seasons envelope our body. It’s a time to pull on the sweaters, tug on the boots, or cozy into a blanket. And the smells- have you ever gone to sleep with the smell of campfire still lingering in your hair? Or pumpkin pies baking in the kitchen? Just heavenly. As you wander the streets of Gatlinburg or Dollywood or many other parks and areas, the sounds of bluegrass or mountain music drift through the air. And the tastes of autumn- a crisp apple fresh from the orchard, a fried pie, a pumpkin spice coffee, or cinnamon bread sweetening the experience. All of our senses come alive in autumn, and our cup overflows with warmth and contentment.
We feel so blessed to get to share this season with you. Don’t wait to plan your visit- there are so many fun experiences to be found during autumn in the Smokies!
